Gulf Oil Update, They Capped the Well!

Hip, Hip, Hooray! They capped the well!

Yes this is still only a temporary fix and there is still much work to be done, but it's still the best news we've had in the past 88 days!

They'll have to vent it somehow to relieve pressure before they make the final tap into the vein with the relief wells or else the pressure on them would put us right back where we started.

I'll be watching intently until it's capped off permanently!

Just don't want people to get too excited yet...there is still a lot to be done down here! But I am looking forward to getting home!

Thanks for the Dawn info the other day. I know it came at you from out of left field with no explanation.

We had just done a density demo with different liquids and Dawn was one of them. In the post activiy discussion, the use of Dawn to clean oily critters came up and someone wondered if Dawn was itself a petroleum product.

I piped up and said my college roommate was a Dawn expert and if the Prof didn't mind I would text him.
My buddy tried to google that question on her phone at the same time and you came through quicker than google!

Lightnin - Yep, but it's a big first step!

FC - They call me super connector! It's not what you know or who you know, it's who you know that knows what! ;-)

Dude - So true, we'll start seeing the extent of the damage over the next few years.
