Slow, and I mean SLOW Boat to China!

Sorry I haven't written for awhile and I thought I'd try to give a quick update on my situation.

Our illustrious relocation group neglected to get the immigration paperwark to me in order for my work permits to be filed in time to meet my original start date. So I've been delayed now until March 1st.

I've beeen rather busy filling out all of this paperwork , and have actaully started my new project from here. Since the time difference is 13 hours I've had a modified work schedule of making late night phone calls to China, to catch them during their work day, and then come in during my normal work day to close out my current reponsibilities. So since I've sort of been working a double shift which hasn't allowed much time or thought to put into my blogging.

I should be done wrapping up my current role this week and will be switching over to Beijing time for February, and will hopefully be able to get back to a semi-normal schedule which will just be like working 3rd shift. Besides that will help me to be better prepared to hit the road running once I do finally physically land in China.

It's a shame though that I won't be there for the Chinese New Year celebration, which by the way is the Year of the Rat. So for all you Rats out there, Happy New Year!

Brother J - I hear ya, but it's still a bit frustrating when the delay is outside of my control.

Jacki - Thanks! I've got a bunch of stuff that's happened over the past couple of weeks, I just need to get it out there in a post or two!
